With Christmas, year-end parties, and New Year's Day, the year-end and New Year holidays are a season when we eat a lot more.

There is a saying that goes, "New Year's weight gain," and I was wondering if there was any good way to lose the weight I've gained without realizing it, when I found a follower of the Maeda family's Instagram who posted a diet recipe called "Protein Mug Cake for my Wife."
As a year-round dieter, I immediately tried out this protein mug cake recipe that sounded great.

What is a Protein Mug Cake?

"Protein Mug Cake for My Wife" is a recipe introduced on YouTube by Chappi, a female muscle-trainer from Kansai.
It's a simple recipe that just requires you to put the ingredients in a mug (or bowl), mix them together, and pop them in the microwave, but it also helps you cut down on the amount you make.

Ingredients and Preparation

Ingredients (1 serving)

Maeda Family Oatmeal 30g
30g Protein
3g psyllium (or powdered agar)
3g baking powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder, optional
A little salt A little powdered coffee (for a deeper, fuller flavor)
80-100ml water
Topping: Maeda family dried fruits, crushed almonds

How to make it

Mix Maeda family oatmeal (30g) with protein (30g), psyllium or agar powder (3g), baking powder (3g), cocoa powder (1 tablespoon) to taste, a little salt, and a little powdered coffee.
It was easy to make by adding the ingredients on the scale.

Heat in a 600W microwave for 1 minute, then open it and check it.

Protein mug cake is done

The thickness will change depending on the amount of water and heating time, so it's recommended to experiment to find the ratio that suits your taste.

It'll fill you up! We recommend topping it with dried fruit.

Dried fruits are recommended as toppings.

Now let's try it. It's full of protein and oatmeal.
To add sweetness, I added some Maeda family dried fruit and crushed almonds, which was really tasty.
Diced dried fruit and crushed almonds in particular are great because they are easy to sprinkle on.
I had the impression that dieting would make you hungry because of the food restrictions, but Protein Mug Cake is extremely filling and keeps you full for a long time.

If you're in a rush in the morning and don't have time to make a protein mug cake, we recommend muesli.

I personally like to eat it with almond milk. It also goes well with milk and yogurt. Maeda-ya offers three different types of muesli, so be sure to try them out and find your favorite flavor.

My favorite snack while dieting is the Maeda family's "Jujube Walnuts." It's the best dried jujube I've ever eaten.
Jujubes are a super fruit packed with nutrients that are great for women, including folic acid, dietary fiber, potassium, iron, saponin, and polyphenols.

Since they are individually packaged, I distribute them to everyone at work, and they have been well received not only by women but also by men.
Since they are portable, I put 2-3 in my bag and eat them when I feel hungry. I used to carry chocolate around with me, but since I started eating "Jujube Kurumi" as a healthy snack, I have not had any breakouts and it has had a positive effect on my skin condition as well as my diet.
