Simmered sweet potato and chicken
The sweetness of the sweet potato goes perfectly with the chicken. This is a recommended dish for the autumn when sweet potatoes are at their best.
Ingredients (serves 2-3)
★The ultimate Japanese soup stock 1/2 large
★200ml water
1/2 large sweet potato 1/2 carrot 1 chicken thigh 5-6 green beans 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
A pinch of salt
How to make it
1. Put the (★) water and (★) Supreme Japanese Dashi stock in a dashi pack into a pot and bring to a boil.
② Peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into bite-sized pieces, soak them in water for about 5 minutes, and drain them in a colander. Cut the carrots and chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces. Remove the strings from the green beans and cut them to bite-sized pieces.
③ Add the seasonings (sugar, soy sauce, salt), sweet potato, and chicken to (①) and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low and skim off the scum.
④ Add the beans to ③, cover with a lid and simmer for about 10 minutes.
⑤Place on a plate and it's done.
